Working at elections AEC
Australian electoral commission jobs | The AEC needs to employ around 100,000 people right across Australia for the election on Saturday 21 May.
Most jobs are working in polling places on election day, but there are also jobs before election day, such as working in early voting centres, outposted centres and mobile polling. People are also needed after election day to help count votes, manage election materials and complete a range of administration tasks.
COVID-19 safety measures will be in place at polling places and other workplaces to protect AEC workers and voters. All temporary election workers will need to wear a face mask and be fully vaccinated. Medical exemptions may be allowed for some roles.
Reminder for people already registered
- It is a condition of employment for all temporary election workforce staff to have full COVID-19 vaccination, or a medical exemption.
- All election workers will be required to wear a mask.
- If you have previously registered to work at elections, it’s important to log in and update your registration of interest to include your vaccination status. This is required before work in the 2022 federal election can be offered. Please also ensure your contact details are up to date.
Log in to AEC employment to confirm your details are current and update your vaccination status.
